Back to me…

Long time, no blog! As with all things, life got in the way of my checking in here. I really have missed it! I had an injury, which kept me from running for a little while, I was preparing for a trip then going on a trip…excuses, excuses! The point is, I’m back now! On with the show…

I went on a month-long road trip with my family. We went from the Pacific to the Atlantic, and some fun places in between. Part of this trip included what I call an eating tour of the South. I pushed the boundaries of my healthy diet, and I didn’t exercise as much as I would have liked. This is pretty standard for most road trips, I’d say. It certainly has been the case for nearly every road trip I’d been on. The difference this time was me. I counted points as best I could, I ate healthy snacks and veggies when I could, and I exercised when I could. While I enjoyed my trip, and I certainly enjoyed all of the food, I could not wait to get back to my healthy eating and exercise. It was killing me that I couldn’t run! Who would have thought it? Three days after I got home, I ran in a 5K. It wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t fast…but it felt so good! I felt like me again.
